Firstly just like to say well done to Santa and the Falkirk chaps on getting over the line against us, a final played exactly how it should've been with fairness and respect, tension creeped in with both teams but you guys got over the line. So well done

Just wanted to come on and say it was a great weekend as always but want to personally thank the top table/event organisers -Elaine, Yvonne, Ross, John, Davy, Gill and Fiona.

Use guys give up your time and are there virtually all weekend and deserve a big thank you for making everything run smooth etc, not said as often as it should be but it is we'll appreciated so again thanks.

Roll on the 15s

Well said mate. Levenmouth B are a great bunch of guys and were class on and off the table. Genuinely felt for you all.

Delighted for Falkirk D on winning the event. We lost our first 3 matches and only scrapped through on frame difference but just shows what a wee bit of confidence can do.

Well done to Goags & Santa on leading and inspiring this motley crew to win a very tough event. Thanks again to all the folk who helped the event run smoothly. cheers

The first Super 11s of 2018 took place at Pettycur Bay , the division attending was the Second.

The players attending this division are there to really enjoy themselves, yeah they all want to win each match each frame but it was all played in the true spirit of the game.

No one wants to drop down a division, so every match was so important and the ones who lost out and are now in the Third division ? were Whitburn B, Motherwell C, Livingston B and East Fife D.

The reason the ? mark is there, we don't know if the proposal to scrap the third division next year will go through or not?

Anyway well done to Midlothian C East Fife C Inverness B and East Kilbride D in keeping their places in the Second division for next year.

The knockout stages saw some real changes from the group sections, with the biggest surprise Dumfries losing to Midlothian B, why because the Dumfries boys in the group stages were winning 9/2 etc but as they say one frame knockout on pay day is totally different from the group stages.

Other shocks were Kilmarnock losing to Levenmouth B Edinburgh C losing to Nairn, and Dingwall Kirkcaldy losing to Dunfermline D and Falkirk D.

Last 8 teams and all into the prize money but to be very honest the prize money is not what these teams come for, its the title they all want most of all.

Again at the quarters of the event all teams know that a win here will mean they get promoted to the First Division and that alone means so much to them, Levenmouth teams got drawn against each other, the one thing they want to miss and their B team came out good winners by 6 frames to 2..
Falkirk on the charge now, took care of Nairn 6/3, East Lothian, just a small league, new to the SPA set up did fantastic winning 6/4 against the more experience players from Midlothian and that left the Clydebank A team to also come out 6/4 winners against Dunfermline D.

Semi final stages and you would think that getting there, getting promoted was enough but no, one more hurdle to cross to get to that final, to get the chance of winning a Super Division and those prized medals, well we dd not have long to wait as both Levenmouth B and Falkirk D went out winners by 6 frames to one, to set up a great final.

Hard to select a winner, both teams now were playing well and full of confidence, Levenmouth started the better going up 2 zip only for Falkirk to come back and go in front 3/2, this time it was Levenmouth to turn it on and once again go in front and then Falkirk came back yet again to go 5/4 , we then took it down to one table, everyone started getting closer to the table and it went, as I hoped it would to the final frame, both boys were now under real pressure, Levenmouth boy went for it and when his cross double went in, I thought he was going to finish it, only for the white to come down the table and go in off.
Well the Falkirk captain now had the game under full control but again this is the final frame of the Supers and no matter who you are, no one can know the pressure felt by this guy trying to take the winning frame away only to miss the final black and give what it seemed the frame, match and title to his opponent but again the pressure turned on him and instead of playing his cut with just top, he put bottom screw on the white ball which in turn made him miss the pot and he potted the black instead.

A fantastic final, sorry that one team had to lose but thats pool as they say, Falkirk D came out winners in the end and if you had seen that team in their first 3 match's, you would have given them odds of 100/1 to qualify to the knockout stages, as they lost all 3 and only got through by winning their last two match's 9/2 and 8/3 by frame difference, just goes to show you what a difference a day makes, that with getting the International A team manager to take over the team, is it luck, passion or whatever it was , it made the difference, that's for sure.
