sorry son, my fault I put down the Masters date.

As its a ranking event the Senior and Masters cannot be on the same date.

Changed to the 20th May.

Based on your current opinions on players playing in their age groups combined with the overly congested calendar, would it not make sense to have these events on the same day?

Well John I know you as one smart man, who tries all the time to put, shall we say a twist on things, this could be one of them.

Firstly there are a lot of players out there that like to play in Senior events, as they believe, no matter what age the are, they can still win an event like that and don't want to play against, lets say the younger generation, under 40s.

The event is called Seniors for players over the age of 40 and as such anyone over that age is entitled to enter them.

Just because my opinion on the selection of players to senior and masters teams are different from others does not mean I am wrong, just because at present the SPA are winning most of the international team events does not mean that we cannot get better, by putting the best players available into our teams.

I also said that there are exceptions to this rule, however you cannot tell me that from our senior teams players who are near or are in fact over the age of 50 should not be moving up to the masters teams to make us stronger there.

They may not like moving up, they may want to stay with their pals etc or play for a certain manager but that should never come into what is best for the SPA International teams, what is best in my opinion, is that the best players available should play for our teams.

Just my opinion , don't know if you or anyone will agree with me, lost one pal who has blamed me for saying this but I say it as i see it John, you know that.
