WHAT????

YOU CANNOT MAKE A PROPOSAL AND VOTE ON THAT PROPOSAL WITHOUT IT GOING BACK TO AREAS TO BE VOTED ON AT NEXT MEETING. AND ANY CHAMGES TO THE IM REQUIRE A BALLOT OF ALL IM MEMBERS.

Do the exec just do what they want now and to hell with the constitution??? Or is that why it was taken down off the site so they can come back and say it wasnít in the constitution???

Iíve never heard of anything so unconstitutional in all the years Iíve been involved in the SPA.

Ross will it be format changes only? or wholesale changes such as the rankings and distribution of points as I believe the latter shoud not be tinkered with as the rankings now are much fairer than in years gone by.

Graham,

The plan is to make changes to the format, as it stands, there is no need to change/alter the current ranking and merit point system.

When were the proposals made available to the reps prior to the AGM to allow them to liaise with their members? I can't remember seeing them on here. What is the cut off for proposals prior to the AGM?

The AGM was historically the first Sunday in January but this was changed to what is now known as the pre-AGM where any proposals which need to be voted on at the AGM are proposed so they can be taken back to the areas so the reps know what to vote when the AGM takes place.

Itís been that way for years. You cannot make a proposal AT the AGM and it be voted in at that meeting, any proposals made would need to be taken away by the reps and either voted on at next AGM or an EGM would need to be called for the next meeting for the vote to take place.

This just gets more and more incredulous, just read Ross posts on Facebook posts about seniors tour and how proposal made to introduce an SPA membership fee is to be sent out for areas to vote on for next meeting, and when asked by Stuart Weeks why that wasnít the case for IM changes and Ross thinks thatís because the proposal was sent in the required 2 weeks before the AGM whereas Johns was made at the meeting.

That is the biggest load of tosh ever, every proposal at an AGM is supposed to be received 14 days before hand, but how can reps possibly vote for what their areas want when no agenda is published beforehand. Simple answer is they canít hence why proposals are made at one meeting and taken away to be voted on at next meeting.

Iím assuming that this is just gonna be ignored and eventually forgotten about? What is the point of having a constitution if itís not followed?

From what I got told they had a vote to remove the bit were the votes have to go back to the area to then be voted on at the next meeting. Once that was passed then had a vote to let the 3 people sort out the ims witch was then voted on and passed.
Imo the ims have to change but I was out voted in my area last time sure it was 22 to 1 so how does a rep go back and tell there area that all this has happened and basically stuff yous.

Do you mean at this AGM at start of May they took a vote to remove having proposals taken back to next meeting removed?? How can they vote that thru when it needs to be taken back to the areas before it can be removed.

This AGM has made an absolute laughing stock of the SPA, the exec just make up rules as they do along and I for one want to hold a vote of no confidence in their ability to run the SPA.

Maxi no need to bring all the exec into this, some of the exec were not even in attendance, as you know i am the chairperson and as such i give the say so as to whether votes go ahead or not at a meeting.

I allowed this to go ahead on time constraints ground, Ross was asking for changes to be proposed to the I.M. now any proposals as you say have to go to next meeting this would have meant that anything proposed would come to the July meeting for to vote on and if passed then would go out to the members to decide by ballot and we would then get the results in the September meeting now some of the proposals may or may not be passed by the members, all moneys and names have to be in for the November meeting.

A proposal was made to change the constitution so as the Promoter, TD and I.M. secretary could make changes without contacting the members for a ballot, now as the only way the constitution can be changed is at an A.G.M. or an E.G.M. if i had to call an E.G.M. that would have been in July and depending on the out come would push any other proposals back 2 months therefore not getting any decision till November thus being to late to implement any changes for next year, i allowed this to go ahead as this meeting was an A.G.M. and even calling an E.G.M. we were unlikely to get more of a quorum than what was present.

Now i have no problem in you calling for a vote of no confidence in myself, bring as many folk as you can to the next meeting and you can have your vote no problem.

Malky.

The time restraints thing cut no ice with me , quite simply it's a two year ranking system the members are playing off for top 64 seeded positions already any implemented changes could only take place for the season after next as result of this .
