  The Jason Owen Open
by: MJ Hire, 07-05-2018 08:30 AM (#1)

Lee Kendall had the 1st series of the tournament at the weekend. Players such as Mark Farnsworth, Darren Appleton, Chris Melling,Gareth Hibbott, Jordon Shepard, Tom Cousins etc etc etc were in the field. This tournament is one of the toughest world class tournaments Iíve ever saw. All I can say is well done to the Scottish boys of Mark Fleming, Mark Boyle, Jordon Templeton,Jayson Shaw for competing in this and giving a great account of themselves at world rules. A special mention should be given to two Scottish players of making it an all Scottish final. Liam Dunster and Scott Gillespie. These two really have done Scottish pool proud in the past two months! Scott Gillespie won the final. Sponsored Scott for 8 years now and Iím really proud of him. The guy deserved this. Liam, I believe only learned world rules a few weeks ago and for him to reach the final in this world class field is remarkable. But to the Scottish players who entered this tournament all I can say is take a bow. clapclapclap. Ps- Scott Ross? Get yourself in this!

Well said Mark.

This field of players must be the best ever in one event and for two of our boys to get to the final, when they never play these rules, is a remarkable achievement.
