Jackie Paterson Scottish 5 person team 2019
by: FlyingScotsman, 02-05-2019 09:25 AM (#81)

Well another Jackie Paterson Scottish 5 person team event just finished.

I said to a few teams this year that this would be the last one but each of the teams I spoke to said please keep it going, itís the best team event of the year?

I find it harder each year as more and more events are coming onto the calendar and getting entries/payments is not easy now.

Will do it again next year but Iím keeping the format the same as this year, 36 teams groups of six, the players loved it, the times were great with the exception of early Sunday which I will change to start at 10.

Will get an app done so that the top table does not have to sit and work out who plays who next by trying to keep everyone involved as long as possible.

Also will stream the event next year as I want others to see the event as well.

The event itself went great and I want to thank John Reid for all the work he did over the weekend because without him I would have been lost.

The winners were the defending champions Aldo team, of Alan Mcleod Andrew Finnigan Alex McPherson Anton Riley and Colin Downie.

They finished 3rd in their group but still came through to beat Brian York team in the final 8/7 and retain their title.

All 36 teams playing this year will have one month to pay their full balance to play in the event next year before I open it up to any other teams .

Lastly I must mention the ladies teams and some ladies who played in other teams, they come each year knowing they will not win the event but have a great time there just having a laugh and a few drinks? Without them there the event would never be the same as they make the event.
