At the AGM on 24th March I will be bringing up the fact that I would like streaming at singles events to be paid for by the members £5s, among other things, reducing the costs of IMs for club owners.

I will also be proposing that areas be trusted to select their teams as they see fit and the TC only to step in when they really feel something is wrong.

There are a lot of things a lot of people are unhappy with and this is the time.

Does anyone have anything to add?

Good thread John , yes I think it's really important that the SPA flag ship events the ranking series IM goes back to the members , I fear a mass exodus of players if it goes to 128 , it will be interesting to see how well the trial IM works as I see this as the future ? However the 900 members have to have the input not three people .

The non-relegation of A teams which leads to meaningless matches at Supers events.

Well if thatís the case then we should be Drug Testing every competition or are the venues not as important as PB ?
Itís a total waste of money & resources.

No it's not, the fees added to players entry cover the testing fee.

Propose at the forthcoming AGM that there is random drug testing at all SPA events and costs taken out of prize fund.

or increase entry fee to cover tests

Davy, don't bring things to a halt. You're welcome to disagree but we can't just stamp on things we don't like. This is to try to encourage a bit of input.

Refreshing to see the real reason for the drug testing being openly discussed, its nothing to do with fairness or the future of the game but for keeping a venue with some of the worst caravans on the planet which isn't fit for purpose in some cases. All about that cash cow, surprised there isn't another division being added for guys that can barely hold a cue.

How about we get a better venue and we invest this drug testing money into the youth academies or the grassroots of the game? Wasteful.

Totally agree that the £5 membership fee should be spent on something useful, streaming would be one of those, as would academies as would subsidies for brid etc for the u18's.

Sorry Sting but if you think for one minute the SPA do drug testing to keep any venue then you are not as smart as i thought you were.

Davy on the other hand is.
