You can only enter through your nearest affiliated league as it is pro-rata places to get to the finals.

Are the defending champions seeded into the main event? Or the finalists?

Scotch Doubles
1. Lag for break
2. Alternate breaks thereafter
3. Alternate breaker from each team (same person cannot break every frame).
4. Players play alternate shots, including when awarded two shots.
5. Team breaking can communicate with partner after breaking for ONE minute which includes playing shot.
6. After breaking teams visit over, oncoming team can communicate with partner for ONE minute which includes playing shot.
7. Teams are in control of the table from the time the ball(s) come to rest from the previous players shot and no ball has been potted or a foul committed.
8. Teams cannot communicate when in control of the table, only when opponents are in control.

Penalties
1. Warning.
2. Foul – 2 shots.
3. Foul – loss of frame.

. You sure about this Secretary ? So the match is tied it's a final frame decider player is on 8 ball and he is going for a safety , they have potted balls to get to this position and his partner says no double it he proceeds to double it and they receive a warning ???

If the minute rule is being used then surely talking can be allowed in doubles

Personally I think Scotch Doubles where you can't discuss where you want your opponent to put you for next shot etc is absolutely pointless.

In all other Scotch Doubles on the TV with professional players they can discuss what to do at all times, so it's ok for the very top of the game but at national level, where it would be needed the most, we don't use it?

Why do we need to make things so damn difficult.

I have to agree with Maxi here, we allow talking in our league but the minute rule applies, this saves any arguments about he said something, has worked perfectly since we introduced this.

Davy being a smart ass as usual...

Agree with maxi and malky...

With not having a referee at every table, this is a recipe for disaster
