How does someone who doesn't play IMs, Supers, Tours, etc get a trial for any of the International teams? Mens, Ladies, Seniors, Masters, U23s, U18s, U15s (don't know other categories, sorry)

How are the selecting managers suppose to know they play pool or are interested if they take no part in any national tournaments?

Mike any player that wants involved at international level needs to make themselves known .....canít expect a manager to turn up at a players pub team on a Thursday night to watch him play 1 frame

U shouldn't be considered for an international team if u dont play a minimum of IM's at least, would get the falling numbers up, also at a push the Masters/Grandmasters for the old coffin dodgers

Well I don't think it matters if you do or don't your good enough or not good enough.your face fits or it doesn't,you kiss back sides or you don't or your liked or not liked in my case I'm all the above my record speaks for itself and I can't even get a manger to consider me for a trial bottom line I know I should be in a majority of the teams!

I wouldn't worry about it mike i don't anymore.👍

Majority of these teams? So is that the Seniors, Masters, U23's and U15's you should be in? Or just the Mens, U15's, Masters and Ladies teams? hmm

Maybe I'll tell my boss I identify as a 70 yr old to see if they'll start paying my pension lol

Who is this ?? If itís who I think it is ( Gary Scott ) then yes you are good enough for plenty teams but you need to make it known your interested in going ....the year you won the Seniors Scottish Singles that made you an automatic pick for Seniors A ....why werenít you there ???

In Gary's defence with no policy in place it's up to managers to find out who is available. A big part of the policy was players putting names in and the reason for that was to save managers the time and aggravation of phoning everyone round to find out if they were available.

With the policy scrapped it falls to the managers to do the research.

If the number one player in the rankings hasn't been phoned then the managers either don't want him or haven't done their jobs. I'd say it's reasonable for a No1 to assume if he didn't receive a phone call, he's not wanted. Particularly with three teams picked. That's the best part of 20 lower ranked players selected.

Fair Points John .....
But going from memory I used to see Garyís name on interested list regular yet never once saw him at an event representing Scotland Seniors .....so using my initiative I presumed he didnít want to go .....if heís now saying he does want to go then send a manager or all 3 seniors manager a PM ......he knows us

That's the kind of intiative that forced us to put a policy in place.

Anyway I think your selections have a great chance of taking the title but as long as a Scotland team wins I don't mind which. All the best at the event.
