A special mention to Sue McCrorie from Budds Bar, the first female to get to the last 16 of the Ayr Singles. Sue was 2-0 up on Colin Thomson in the last 16 before eventually being beaten 5-3.

Young Stuart McCulloch (I think he's 12), also played in his first event and took the scalp of Peter Adams of the Vulcan 5-1. Stuart can be very proud of himself, eventually being beaten in the last 64.

This was a huge learning curve for the Committee, who were running a big weekend event for the first time. We did make mistakes and will learn for the future, but I think on the whole the weekend was a success and I know the sponsor was very happy and is already talking about the possibility of more events in the future.

Can someone change the wording of the poll? It's asking 2 conflicting questions.
